Former WBC International titleholder Ayitey Powers is set to kick off the first Ayitey Powers Boxing Promotions event on June 29 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra. Dubbed “Power of the Fist,” this event marks the official launch of his promotion company, featuring national and West African title bouts aimed at elevating Ghanaian boxers to the international stage.
As the president of Voice of Ghana Professional Boxers, Powers is committed to helping local boxers achieve world titles through consistent support and promotion. He plans to host regular fights, ensuring that boxers stay in peak condition and are prepared for international competitions.
Despite his lack of formal education, Powers shared his passion for boxing and his experiences traveling due to the sport. He is dedicated to mentoring and supporting upcoming boxers to help them win titles for Ghana. Powers also called on the government to provide support for boxing promoters to further develop the sport in the country.
Goodfellow Dei Offei, General Manager of Game TV, a partner in this initiative, highlighted the station’s dedication to sports and gaming. He expressed their commitment to giving boxing a facelift by partnering with Ayitey Powers to strengthen the sport in Ghana.
