Mr. Bismark Okyere Asante, CEO of Linbisk Farms, a poultry business in Ghana, recently addressed the media at his farm, sharing his views on empowering Ghana’s youth and promoting peace before and after the upcoming 2024 election.
Mr. Asante expressed that if individuals engage themselves in productive work, there would be fewer opportunities for the youth to be swayed into violence or illegal activities in the name of political support. He advised young people who complete their education not to wait for jobs but to create their own opportunities, even if it requires starting small. “It could be catfish farming, poultry farming, or any other venture that you feel capable of managing. Avoid loans if possible, as building a responsible business requires patience and perseverance,” he added.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Asante shared, “I started Linbisk Farms with just two employees, funding their first-year salaries from my personal savings. Today, we have grown to employ 20 people. Success takes time, and it’s essential to be involved in every aspect of your business.”
Message to the Youth: Before and After Election Advice
In his closing remarks, Mr. Asante encouraged the youth of Ghana to focus on peace, unity, and economic empowerment as the election approaches. His advice includes:
1. Shun Violence: Refrain from engaging in any form of violence, intolerance, or destructive behavior.
2. Invest in Your Future: Channel your energy into productive ventures like agriculture, entrepreneurship, or education.
3. Promote Peace: Encourage dialogue, understanding, and peaceful conflict resolution.
“The future of Ghana lies in the hands of its youth,” he emphasized. “Let us choose peace, entrepreneurship, and progress. Together, we can build a brighter future for generations to come.”
Linbisk Farms stands as an example of how dedication, hard work, and a commitment to growth can contribute to Ghana’s future. Mr. Asante’s vision underscores his hope for a peaceful election season and a continued focus on personal and national development.
