The Assin Central constituency National Democratic Congress (NDCs) women organizer, Hon. Agatha Yoson popularly known as Sekina has called on the general public and the various political parties to support and introduce more women into political related activities if only we want to do away with high or increasing corruption scandals and vigilantism activities in Ghanaian politics.

She started emphatically that, women are so special to the extent that, they can be trusted both financially and emotionally, women should be empowered and be assigned to some of the high governmental positions in other to reduce and eliminate corruption activities we are witnessing in some of our public institutions.

In an exclusive interview with Odiasempa Kwaku Ahiaku, mad.Sekina emphasized that, looking at the members in the so called “vigilant groups”, there is No woman in those groups because women has the spirit of being merciful, so if more women are to be in Parliament (politics), they will definitely fight against it such intolerance acts. Therefore women should be given more chance to participate in political activities in other to help as a country to eliminate this violence creation groups.

She finally advised her fellow women to rise up and fight for the betterment of this nation because as the saying goes “women are peace makers” so they shouldn’t be discouraged by the mockers who normally pass unworthy comments about women in politics, she said, and I quote ” though, doing politics here in Ghana is difficult because, if you are a married woman and you engaged yourself into politics, and you don’t take care or pray, your husband will divorce you or if you are single too, you will find it difficult to have a husband because of the mentality people have that, women in politics are prostitute”

She says all these as today 8th March marks as the international women’s day.
